Coming from out of Town
Coming From Out of Town?
Welcome, traveler. Whether you’re driving north from Seattle, heading south from Canada, or arriving from somewhere that considers Bellingham “the country,” you’re getting close.

And to our Canadian neighbors, we love you. Thanks for crossing an international border just to hang out on our little rock. That is commitment.

Set your map destination to Gooseberry Point Ferry Dock. This will give you the best estimate of when you’ll actually reach the ferry line, not just when you’ll be somewhere near the coast wondering if your GPS has finally betrayed you.

The ferry leaves Lummi Island near the top of the hour and usually departs Gooseberry Point around 10 minutes after. The crossing takes about eight minutes, but summer ferry lines can fill up quickly. Give yourself extra time, especially on weekends and holidays. Missing the ferry is not the end of the world, but it does give you more time to think about how you should have left earlier.

The current round-trip fare is $24 for a vehicle and driver. Each additional adult passenger is $10 round trip. Children under 19 years old are free; for bicycles, motorcycles, larger vehicles, and complete fare information, visit the official Whatcom County ferry page.

Book Before You Board
Seas the Day is open by appointment and for advance bookings, so reserve your gear before making the trip. We’ll confirm what you need, check the local conditions, and share a few tips to help you have the sickest possible island day without accidentally becoming part of a Coast Guard training exercise.

Staying for More Than One Day?
If you’re renting gear for several days, send us an email or text with the gear you want and how long you’ll need it. We’ll put together a custom rental price for your trip.

We know that after a few days at the full daily rate, you might as well go buy the gear. We get it. We’re here to help you have an adventure, not fund our early retirement. Tell us what you need, and we’ll take care of you.

Gear, Shades & Island Goods
Along with kayaks, paddleboards, bikes, and other adventure gear, the shop carries a few excellent island essentials:
- Freaks of Nature sunscreen and skincare
- Goodr sunglasses
- Custom Seas the Day apparel
Basically, everything you need to get outside, look good doing it, and pretend you planned the whole trip this well.
