Congratulations, you’re practically a local. You’re also only about 30 minutes and about a 8 minute ferry ride away from a seriously good island day.

Set your map destination to Gooseberry Point Ferry Dock. That will give you a better idea of when you’ll actually reach the ferry line, not just when you’ll be somewhere vaguely near the water wondering where the road went.

The ferry leaves Lummi Island near the top of the hour and usually departs Gooseberry Point around 10 minutes after. Summer lines can fill up quickly, so give yourself some extra time. Island time is relaxing once you’re here. Waiting through another ferry run? Slightly less relaxing.

Local Move: Walk On

If you don’t need your car on the island, park in one of the designated areas south of the ferry dock and walk aboard. The crossing takes about five minutes, and the rental shop and Islander Store are both a short walk from the island-side landing.

Current round-trip fares are $10 per walk-on passenger or $24 for a vehicle and driver. Check the official schedule, parking map, and current fares before heading out. Ferries, like the wind, do not care about the plans we made.
